  • Yashwantrao Baji Pasalkar was the first martyr of the Maratha Swarajya. He lost his life in the battle, but his bravery inspired the other warriors to fight on.

  • Baji Sarjerao Jedhe recaptured the Maratha flag from the enemy and was awarded the title of "Sarjerao" by Shivaji Maharaj. He was a skilled warrior and strategist who played a key role in the victory at Purandar.
  • Godaji Jagtap killed the enemy commander Mosekhan, which turned the tide of the battle in favor of the Marathas. He was a fierce warrior who was known for his strength and courage.

Yashwantrao Baji Pasalkar

A number of veteran SwarajyaWarriors accompanied young Shivba when he came to Pune. These were sent with him by ShahajiRaje. In addition, he needed the support of the dignitaries from the Pune region. This need was met by Baji Pasalkar!

During the battle of Purandar, 65-year-old Baji made the supreme sacrifice for Swarajya.
